In the first of this new FAD series of interviews with upcoming talent, Lee Sharrock talks to 27 year old artist Travion Payne about his love of Caravaggio, redressing the cultural imbalance in art by putting black people in the forefront, and the power of Instagram in gaining exposure for unsigned artists. Texan-born Travion moved from Houston to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an artist, and during the pandemic has been creating art at home and gaining exposure with an appearance in a music video and an exhibition at the Beverly Center in LA. Leading German contemporary artist Jonathan Meese creates artwork for TWELVE Magazine

German contemporary artist Jonathan Meese has created some powerful artwork for the new issue of TWELVE Magazine, the annual print magazine published by Serviceplan Group’s House of Communication Munich. There are several works of Jonathan Meese in the Serviceplan Group’s contemporary art collection, which is how the collaboration on TWELVE magazine came about.

Reflecting the twelve months of a year, each issue comprises twelve chapters on topical matters, curated by prominent external guest authors and experts from the ranks of the Serviceplan Group. The current issue themed “Rethink“ includes articles by the chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts, Professor. Lars P. Feld; Facebook’s Vice President Central Europe Angelika Gifford; the entrepreneurs Dr. Thomas Strüngmann and Stefan Hipp; Beiersdorf supervisory board member Prof. Manuela Rousseau; brain researcher Prof. Gerald Hüther; and top investor Eileen Burbidge on subjects such as Future Mindset, Leadership, Culture of Innovation, Brand Management, Economic Policy and The New Digital.
